About Us
"Who's idea was this?" a friend recently asked...
You know when you can't remember how you got to where you are because it just seemed such a natural path? We think about that with our vanlife life trek. Megan remembers when we first started dating... Gordon showed her some vanlife builds he was admiring and Megan's exact comment was "There's no way I'm traveling around the US in a van."
Ha, then Covid happened. It showed us all different ways of thinking, and we couldn't go anywhere BUT the US. Suddenly Megan was all in thanks to a tiny virus. We bought a retired Amazon van and began the conversion in our garage.
In 2020, our dear campervan named Falkor was born. It's big and white - just like the luck dragon Falkor from the movie The Neverending Story, you know the one who keeps saying "It's right around the corner." He was lovingly built from scratch as we dreamt of travel while the pandemic kept
us grounded.
When Gordon agreed to put in the expensive water filtration system that would work abroad, Megan knew this van was heading south and hopefully around the world!
Three years later, we took a leap of faith to quit our jobs at a tech and travel company, closed our side business boarding dogs, rented out our home in Poulsbo, Washington, and upgraded our camping chairs to the good kind.
And of course, we couldn't leave our beloved Goldendoodle Gus behind....he's always up for any adventure by our sides and, besides, he can beg for cheese in any language.
We plan to wing it, letting the road take us. Trying to settle once and for all who's idea this really was.
Thanks for joining us a bit on our journey, it truly means the world to us!
